SADHR has expressed serious concern over the lack of transparency in healthcare resource management in Zimbabwe. Reports suggest that funds from initiatives like the Sugar Tax, meant to improve healthcare outcomes, have been misallocated or remain unaccounted for.

In a statement, SADHR called on the Zimbabwean government to take immediate action to ensure accountability and transparency. The organization outlined the following recommendations:

  1. Publish a detailed report on the allocation and use of healthcare funds.
  2. Establish independent oversight committees to monitor resource distribution.
  3. Engage civil society organizations to ensure community needs are prioritized.

“Healthcare resources are critical to achieving universal health coverage, and their mismanagement undermines public trust,” SADHR stated. “We stand with the people of Zimbabwe in demanding accountability and better healthcare outcomes.”

SADHR continues to advocate for policy reforms and support initiatives that promote transparency and equitable healthcare access.
